Because he sure is doing a whole lot right in Philadelphia.

The world laughed when Chip Kelly picked Sanchez up, but at the same time if anyone could make something out Sanchez many figured Kelly would be that guy. During the preseason it looked whatever he did must be working because Sanchez actually looked good.
But that was preseason. With the way the refs were forcing defensive backs to back-off it wasn't hard for any quarterback to look like an All-Pro. The regular season would be different--if Sanchez played, that is.
Sure enough, Nick Foles goes down and in comes Sanchez. Sure enough it was different alright.
It was better. In fact, Sanchez has played better than he ever has:
Mark Sanchez: 3rd straight game with at least 300 passing yards (never had 2 in a row prior to this season)

He still has some turnover issues (six interceptions and two interceptions in three+ games), but otherwise it is hard to complain about Sanchez which leads to one very important question.
So does Mark Sanchez not suck now?
Many will answer that question with an emphatic yes, but others will be a lot slower to do so. Could it be that his success is a product of the system he is in and the quality of players he has around him now? Is it him or is it LeSean McCoy, Darren Sproles, Jeremy Macklin, Jordan Mathews, and Riley Cooper making him look better than he is?
Let's not forget his offensive line and head coach as well.
Thursday's game against Dallas will give Sanchez a chance to prove it is him. The Cowboys pass rush will be the best that he has faced. Tack on the pressure of being on national television-- something he has not dealt with well in the past--and a recipe for disaster could be created.
Or he could prove the haters wrong and make Eagles fans thankful Chip Kelly signed him during the off-season.
We''ll have to wait and see.
