Chicago Bears Expected to Start Jimmy Clausen Over Jay Cutler Against Detroit

A rough season may be on the way to getting  a lot rougher for the Chicago Bears. With injuries piling up along with the losses and questions surrounding the coaching staff the team has decided to make a move that many have wanted for some time. After a three-interception performance against the Saints Monday night Jay Cutler is being benched.

Yes, Notre Dame fans, that means Jimmy Clausen is going to start.

Clausen appeared to be out of football after being waived by the Carolina Panthers last August and landing on their IR. When he was playing he was never very good anyway completing barely half his passes his rookie season (in 2010) with just three touchdowns and nine interceptions. He would never see the field during the regular season for Carolina again.

For some reason the Bears decided to sign him in June, but then something amazing happened. He didn't suck during the preseason and actually earned a spot on the roster.

Now it appears his perseverance is going to pay off and he is going to start against the Detroit Lions.
