It wasn’t that long ago that Baylor hired Art Briles away from the University of Houston. At the time some wondered why he was leaving good program in Houston to go to a bad one in Waco. He showed them why in three years when he guided Baylor to its first winning season since 1995, and a top 15 ranking the next.
The last time Baylor had finished a season ranked was 1986.
That success was due in large part to Briles, but also the quarterback that followed him from Houston to Waco, young Robert Griffin III from Copperas Cove, Texas....
