Michigan State's Mark Dantonio Compares Baylor QB Bryce Petty to Will Ferrell in 'Elf'

Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio historically has not been known for engaging in a lot of trash talk in the media. He doesn't bash the opposition or talk bad about their coaching staffs. That just isn't his way.

So than why did he compare Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty with the character Will Ferrell played in the hit move Elf?

Since Petty stands 6'3" and weighs in at 230 pounds is Dantonio trying to say that he is a big, goofy white boy or something? That doesn't sound very nice, but it is also not what he is referring to at all.

All he was talking about was the speed and accuracy in which Petty delivers the ball:
"I think it was Christmas Eve. I was watching 'Elf' with my kids, and when Elf throws snowballs at those guys, that's what I thought of," Dantonio said Tuesday. "I said, 'There's Bryce Petty.' That thing is coming out fast and hot."
Well--that's actually true. Nice comparison Coach.
