Rakeem Cato Finishes Career at Marshall With Five Touchdown Game in Boca Raton Bowl

Marshall Thundering Herd quarterback Rakeem Cato needed a little time to get warmed up and in the zone against Northern Illinois in the Boca Raton Bowl, but in the end the record setting quarterback did what every player dreams of doing.

He ended his college career in style.

After a slow first half that saw him complete just seven passes (all to his long-time friend wide receiver Tommy Shuler) Marshall held a 24-13 lead.

The second half was a different story all together though. The Thundering Herd started the half with a three and out, but scored touchdowns on their next four drives to blow the game wide open. In the end Cato finished the game completing 25 of 37 passes for three touchdowns along with 25 yards and two touchdowns on ten carries.

With three touchdown passes he tied the NCAA mark for most consecutive games (46) with at least one touchdown pass.
