Rice Owls Make School History With Win Over Fresno State in Hawaii Bowl

Post season success is not something the Rice Owls football program is accustomed to. Since 1912 the team has been to a bowl game just a dozen times including Wednesday's Hawaii Bowl against Fresno State. That's an awful long history and not too many bowl games, but if recent history is any indication the Owls may become post season regulars.

Should that be the case they will be setting more school records like they did in the Hawaii Bowl.

The Rice defense pretty much bottled up the Bulldogs offense for most of the game en route to a 30-6 win for the Owls.

For other schools this mark would not be that big of a deal, but for a post season starved Owls it's pretty cool:

Just do it again next season Rice and make it three out of four!
