Or was his big game a fluke?

Since taking over during the Tennessee game McCoy has been sacked 19 times. Of those 17 came in this three starts along with 24 hits. Peyton Manning and Joe Flacco have not been sacked that many times all season, and Manning has been hit just 31 times all season.
McCoy has decent mobility which kept him from getting hit even more against Dallas and Indianapolis, but the Rams defense was simply too fast. With games against New York, Philly, and Dallas again without better blocking there is no telling if he'll be in one piece long enough to find out.
After leaving Sunday's game with a neck strain there has been some concern about putting him back in the lineup this week. The team has had all sorts of testing done on his neck this week and no damage has been found. He's been taking reps in practice, but the team has been careful not to aggravate things and definitely force him to miss time.
Perhaps, since the playoffs are already out of the picture, it would not be a bad idea to have him sit this week to make sure he is okay and then give him the start in the final two games of the season.
