When Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly announced that Malik Zaire was getting the nod at quarterback for the Fighting Irish against LSU in the Music City Bowl it did not come as a big surprise. Everett Golson had struggled over the last few regular season games and many had wanted him pulled sooner.
So--how did Malik do? Along with selling out on this block and helping Tarean Foster score his touchdown he completed 12 of 15 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown along with 96 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries on the ground.
Not bad Malik. Not bad at all.
