Did LSU Get Screwed on Fake Field Goal Call in the Music City Bowl? [VIDEO]

The Music City Bowl was one of the better bowl games of the season so far overall. It ended with Notre Dame making a 32-yard field goal as time expired to secure a 31-28 win; a result that will infuriate LSU fans and not just because they lost.

No, they are going to be made because they should have had another seven points on the board.

Late in the first half the Tigers lined up to go for a field goal, but faked it and tried to run the ball in for a touchdown instead. In the video you can see the runner extending the ball out as he goes down. At one point he does appear to get the ball over the plane of the goal line, but the refs ruled the play short on the field.

In the above video it is hard to tell whether his knee was down at the time the ball crossed the plane, but in the one below it is a little easier to see:

Hmm...As much as I hate all the second guessing that goes on these days after the fact it looks like the Tigers did indeed get screwed.
