Florida State appeared to take the lead on a one-yard touchdown run by Jameis Winston in the first quarter of the Rose Bowl. It was an unusual call by the Seminoles since they had only gone for it on fourth down four times this year and missed all four. They went for it though and Winston decided not to pitch it on the option and made a cut inside to the goal line.
At first it was called a touchdown, but after the review it was reversed.

So--bad call by the quarterback everyone loves to hate or just good defense by the Ducks?
I'm inclined to say good defense. The Ducks had cut off the pitch leaving Winston no other option than to try to score himself. He did have a window, but the Oregon defense was simply too fast.
