Colts Release Safety Laron Landry and Two Others

This is a tough time of year for football fans. Not only is there no football being played, but they have to watch some of their favorite players get released due to salary cap issues. It's not that he isn't needed. It's just that the team can't or doesn't want to pay him what he is worth anymore.

Such is the case with the Indianapolis Colts who have released monstrous safety Laron Landry along
with inside linebacker Andrew Jackson and tackle Xavier Nixon.

Landry, whose arms are the size of most running backs thighs, was suspended during the season after testing positive for PEDs. On the season he ended up making 46 tackles and two and a half sacks. In two seasons with the Colts he played in 23 games, started 18, and recorded 144 tackles.

With 677 tackles to his name in eight seasons including 500 solo tackles it not likely Landry will be without a job for long once free agency starts.
