Former Texas Star Vince Young to Take Part in Veteran Combine in Arizona Next Month

The NFL makes a lot of bad decisions, but it made a brilliant one when it decided to hold special veteran combines. What better way for teams to see if players that have been out of the game for any amount of time are worth giving another chance than by putting them back through the same paces they did when these guys were bright-eyed college kids with huge aspirations.

It looks like one former college superstar, Texas Longhorns QB Vince Young is hoping it may be the restart that his career needs.

After an up and down start to his career with the Tennessee Titans Young bounced around between several teams before finally deciding to call it a career on June 14. 2014. He took a job back at his old stomping grounds working with "the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement as a development officer for program alumni relations and raising money for programs that assist first-generation and low-income college students."

He has said that he would come out of retirement for a guaranteed contract though and it appears he is hoping he might be able to earn one with a strong showing at the veteran combine.

Even if he does better than his original combine numbers there is no way he is going to be guaranteed anything. It has been too long since he played in the NFL and he was not very consistent when he was in the league.

It doesn't hurt to dream though I suppose.
