Robert Griffin III Doesn't Do Himself Any Favors On Social Media Again

Former Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III came in to the league with all the promise in the world and after his rookie season it looked like he was going to live up to it, but injuries have now clouded the picture and that is no longer a given. After being a fan favorite as a rookie it now appears that he is the QB many seem to love to hate.

However, to be fair, he does bring a lot of the negative issues on to himself. He did so one again when he foolishly engaged with one of his haters on Instagram.

Like all social media beefs it started over something real simple--a video of RG3 enjoying some Michael Jackson on his way to work:

A video posted by Robert Griffin III (@rgiii) on
For some odd reason some folks acted like singing along with Billie Jean meant he was not acting like a quarterback and that he cared more about social media and his brand than being a better QB. Many fans disagreed with these morons, but not all did. Eventually RG3 chimed in with:
"If giving back to the community and training for football at the same time is frowned upon.....then what would you say I do Sir? Not give back or Train? Honest Question." And then, "Oh wait...and should I not enjoy a classic song with others who Love MJ? I'm just asking for your wisdom here."
People do need to realize that a professional football player does not need to be all about football, 24/7. Expecting them to do so is not fair whether they had a good season last year or not. They need a break just like the rest of us do from our jobs.

One user identified himself as a military man and went on to chastise RG3 for what he viewed as a lack of leadership skills. RG3's response was spot on:
"Military families have class, dignity & loyalty. I will maintain mine. You have not shown any of those. I will keep it that way and let you go right off my page God Bless."

People are ridiculous with the high standard and expectations they have set for RG3, but he does invite a lot of the criticism in. It's not that he needs to stay off of social media, but posting a video like this is begging for the haters to come and hate. That's not to say that he should not be allowed to take a video and post it of himself acting foolish, but don't respond to the haters.

The haters do not care what the object of their affections think. There is no reasoning with them. Anything said to them just fuels their fire and the fire of every other hater to hate on.

If you have to respond RG3, respond to the cool people and leave the haters be.
