Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson Gets Slammed By Fans on Twitter After Tweeting He Likes 50 Shades of Grey

Twitter is a great tool for disseminating information. It also gives people unprecedented access to many of their favorite celebrities. While this can be a good thing it can also be a bad thing for celebrities. By letting fans in and allowing them to get to know you better you can turn casual fans in to diehards. However, at the same time you open yourself up to be criticized by all the haters in the world.

When Seattle Seahawks quarterback tweeted about the movie 50 Shades of Grey fans wasted no time blasting him for his opinion.

The critics I have heard talk about the movie have been split on it with as many bashing it as supporting it. Wilson, like anyone else, is allowed to have an opinion which he shared Friday afternoon:

Fans wasted little time blasting him for supporting such a movie (apparently some domestic violence occurs in the movie; I haven't read the book so I don't know):

Wilson was not going to let the haters change his mind or get to him. He is allowed to have his opinions like anyone else and to be disappointed in him or question his faith because he liked a movie is pretty stupid. Is he only allowed to see things like Russell Crowe's Noah?

He said as much, but in a nice way:

Really people. You want to trash someone for liking movie? Heck, the man could have been on a date so maybe she wanted to see it. Come on guys! How many of us have seen a movie we had no interest in because a girl wanted to see it?
