They got that someone in journeyman quarterback Josh McCown.
via Bleacher Report |
While he has never been a superstar, McCown is capable of playing some really good football. He is also just as capable of playing some really bad football which makes it a little surprising that the team signed him to a three year, $15 million deal.
So--what does this mean for the other guys?
For Manziel, nothing. The team wants him to be the future and will give him every chance to prove he is capable.
For Hoyer it is probably the final straw. With what they are paying him the team is more than okay with McCown being the No. 2 and posibly even starting for a bit ifd Manziel falters, gets injured, or is not ready.
For Shaw it may be the end, but probably not. When he played he played well and should be given a shot to play. Yes, Manziel is expected to be the man,k but the team needs to go with who gets the job done--not the one who was drafted higher.
