Boise State Expected to Retire Kellen Moore's Jersey At Spring Game

Kellen Moore has to be feeling pretty good about life right about now. The former Boise State Bronco has signed a contract extension with the Detroit Lions for the next two seasons at $1.825 million. For an undrafted quarterback that is technically the No. 3 man on the roster that is exceptional, but the good times do not end there for Moore.

It sounds like his alma mater may be getting his old college jersey retired during Boise State's spring game.

The school has not come right out and stated that it is going to do so, but the writing is definitely on the wall. The game, which is being held on April 11, is going to be a reunion of sorts for former players. Kids wearing Moore's No.11 will be allowed in to the game for free. For some odd reason head coach Bryan Harsin has been including #11 in a lot of his tweets.

A few players have had the number since Moore left, but no one does now. The school has only retired one other jersey before, Jim McMillan's No. 12 (a player from 1974). Moore's coach at the time was not a fan of retiring numbers since teams have over 100 players and less than 100 jersey numbers.

If the school was ever going to retire anyone's number it should be Moore's. While at Boise State he only won more games than any other quarterbacks in NCAA history (50). That in itself should be enough, but he was also a two-time All American and a Heisman trophy finalist.
