For the last few days the media has been full of stories about how the Bears are trying to unload Brandon Marshall; that they wanted to clean up the locker room and get rid of any toxic elements. That, along with his age, injury history, and cap number, meant Marshall's days in the Windy City were numbered.
It appears now that they are over. The Bears have traded him to the New York Jets.

The Jets are taking a gamble with Marshall since he is going to have to battle back from some serious injuries (collapsed lung, ankle). At $7.75 million he does not come cheap either. What exactly the Jets gave up to get him has not been made public yet (wrong--fifth rounder).
With Marshall joining Eric Decker the Jets have the weapons to have a pretty potent passing game if they can just get a quarterback that can get the ball to them. Geno Smith has struggled considerably since the Jets drafted him and it is not clear what direction the new regime is going to go in just yet.
Are they surrounding Smith with weapons so there is no excuse or are is he the next to go and they are still looking for a quarterback to bring in? Only time will tell.
