First Tampa Bay Buccaneer to Ever Score a Touchdown Passes Away

It is a sad day for long time fans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A player that will forever hold a special place in the team's history has passed away. Former fullback Vince Kendrick who happened to score the first touchdown in Buccaneers history lost his battle with cancer Saturday. He was 63.

His NFL career began in Atlanta in 1974 where he played mostly as a back-up. A knee injury grounded him in 1975. He was left unprotected in the 1976 Expansion Draft and was snatched up by the Buccaneers. He ended up scoring the franchise's first touchdown on a one-yard plunge in a preseason game against Green Bay (a 10-6 loss).
