Former Tennessee Titans RB Eddie George Has Sights Set on Ownership of Titans

For some guys adjusting to life outside of the NFL is more than they can handle. We hear the stories all the time about former players struggling trying to adjust to life after the game. Former Tennessee Titans running back Eddie George has been out of the game for a few years now, and so far struggling is the one thing he has not done.

He's acted, he's earned an MBA, he's started and still runs a landscape design firm, he's involved in local politics, and if everything pans out for him someday he hopes to lift the Lombardi Trophy as the owner of the Tennessee Titans.

George is currently working as the treasurer on the Nashville mayoral campaign of his friend, Howard Gentry. A longtime supporter of the community, George relishes the opportunity to make a difference.
"I've watched Nashville grow into a metropolis. It's not just about country music anymore, the economy has grown, business is booming and it's become a city like Columbus (OH) but with that southern charm" says George. "I've always had the heart and passion to lead, solve issues and help the community, this is me being a helping hand."
He says the toughest part is the learning curve. It would be easy to just use name recognition to help Gentry raise money, but he is more interested in making an impact. Eventually he hopes to make an impact on the football field again. Not as a coach like many former players, but as an owner of his former team.
"My dream is to be an owner of the Titans and bring a Super Bowl to Nashville. To build a new state-of-the-art stadium which doesn't have that corporate feel and creates a great fan experience. If Indianapolis can do it, why can't we? Think of the economic impact bringing the Super Bowl to this town would make. It would be unreal and the city is ready for that."
Good luck with that Eddie.
