Indianapolis Colts Did Make Chuck Pagano an Offer But it Sucked

Earlier in the week the football loving world was caught by surprise when the news broke that the Indianapolis Colts are going to let head coach Chuck Pagano finish out his contract rather than extend him. The general perception has been something along the lines of 'WTF?' and 'is Jim Irsay using again?' After what Pagano has accomplished in his tenure how can he not want to lock the man up with a new deal?

If you believe everything you read on Twitter the team did try to extend Pagano.

Irsay is a fool if he lets Pagano get to the end of this coming season without a new deal. While Bruce Arians deserves a lot of the credit for the team's resurrection, the fact of the matter is the Colts bounced back rather quickly from their 2-14 season and are now contenders yet again.

A new deal with just compensation should be a no-brainer. Should he make it to the end of his contract there will be several teams that will try to money whip him in to leaving Indianapolis. It will be hard to blame him when he leaves.
