Haloti Ngata Says Goodbye to Baltimore Ravens Fan With Full Page Ad in Baltimore Sun [PHOTO]

Unless your team is perfect--and no team is--it is starting to look like it doesn't pay for an NFL player to be too good at his job. Yes, the fat contracts are nice, and for the first season or two a player can get paid what he is worth and have nothing to worry about. However, this off-season it seems like a lot of guys with big contracts have been cut in order to make room under the salary cap.

Some had become under-performers, but defensive tackle Haloti Ngata was certainly not one of them.

Yet the Ravens got rid of him anyway and now he will be lining up in Detroit next season and anchoring the Lions defensive front.

Lately it has become a thing for guys that are leaving the team they have spent most or all of their careers on to take out an ad in the local paper to say thank you to the fans. Ngata was drafted by the Ravens and made the Pro Bowl in five of nine seasons with the team, and while some are not happy he chose to move on he still wanted to say thank you to everyone.

So he did.
