New England Patriots Owner Robert Kraft Takes Jab at New York Jets While at St. Patrick's Day Breakfast

A good rivalry is one that does not go away during the off-season. No, a good one is year round whether the sport is in session or not. When opportunity arises it is the duty of people within that rivalry to take a shot at the other team. It's not because they are being petty or anything. It's what rivals do.

So when New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft took a jab at the New York Jets during a St. Patrick's Day breakfast we should not be surprised.

Shouldn't have let Revis go Bob. You are out of the Funky Bunch.
St. Patrick's Day is this Tuesday, but many celebrated over the weekend in whatever way they deemed fit. For Kraft that meant speaking at a breakfast which is where he decided to take a shot at the Jets [via ESPN]:
"I must tell you, I'm not comfortable wearing green and white because it reminds me of a certain New York football team."
Okay. Understandable. It certainly can't help that the Jets recently money whipped his prize cornerback, Darrelle Revis, in to returning to the Big Apple. Revis was a large part of the team's defense last season and will be missed this year. Kraft had a few comments to say about that too:
"...we've been taking a lot of flak about losing one of our best players." Revis, of course, left the Super Bowl champions to sign with the Jets -- a five-year, $70 million contract (talk about green).
"The money was about the same. (Revis) was actually favoring us, coming to us a little cheaper." With tongue in cheek, he said the deal-breaker was Revis' demand that Castle Island -- a street in Boston -- be re-named Revis Island. That got a lot of laughs from the crowd.
It's okay Bob. They still don't have a quarterback so your team will do just fine against them.
