Malik Zaire Tweets About Upcoming QB Battle With Everett Golson?

Notre Dame entered last season with high hopes only to  have to settle with beating LSU in the Music City Bowl. Part of the problem the team had, but not the only, was quarterback play which has led many to call for the Malik Zaire Era to begin and the  Everett Golson one to end. As far as we know right now Zaire and Golson will be battling it out for the right to be named the starter in Game One next season.

From the sound of a couple tweets Malik sent out Thursday morning it sounds like he may already be looking at the job as his to lose.

Maybe he was talking with someone about the position or he got a few tweets from fans that think he is a little too cocky for his own good or maybe he was just feeling good about himself and wanted to share how he was feeling with the world.

Whatever the reason, this is the tweet in question:

That one alone does not make me think he was talking about playing quarterback for the Fighting Irish, but this one quoting Kevin Durant does.

When people started to say that Durant did not deserve a spot in the last all-star game he challenged people to play him for it. So--is Zaire challenging Golson?

Who knows, but it should be one heck of a battle.
