West Virginia and Kentucky Attorney Generals Put Wager on Thursday's Sweet Sixteen Game

College basketball fans in West Virginia are happy to see their team still dancing in the Sweet Sixteen, but they probably wish they were playing anyone but who they are playing--the Kentucky Wildcats. If you are going to be the best you have to beat the best and the Wildcats certainly qualify as that.

The odds are stacked against the Mountaineers of course, but that did not stop the state's attorney general from making a wager with the Kentucky AG.

Should the Mountaineers lose West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey will have to give Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway a piece of handmade glass made by the Milton, W.Va.-based Blenko Glass Co. If the Wildcats lose Conway will have to give Morrisey a Meacham’s country ham from Union County.

As a fan I appreciate that the two politicians are showing pride and supporting their respective teams. However, as a blogger I wish they had come up with a cooler bet. As a fat guy dig the free ham, but the glass thing is kind of dull.

What they should have done was bet samples of moonshine from their respective state's best illegal stills, or maybe a bottle of Kentucky bourbon versus a burning coach or the mascot's musket.
