Charlie Strong Has QB Tyrone Swoopes Apologize to Kid He Hit in the Face With a Pass During the Game

Ever since he took over the program, Charlie Strong has made it clear that he intends to create more than just football players at Texas. No, he wants his Longhorns to be good people as well. That is why he has his five core values that have been widely publicized (and have brought an end to a few careers during Charlie's reign).

While the core values are something that are emphasized day in and day out the Longhorns quarterback, Tyrone Swoopes, received an additional lesson Saturday during the team's spring game.

At some point during the day Swoopes threw a ball in the stands and it hit a kid. Swoopes was just trying to get it out of bounds, but put a little too much on it and ended up nailing a young kid in the face. Hard enough that the kid was looked at by the medics.

Strong had Swoopes run from the other sideline during the game to go check on the kid.

I would have expected him to find the kid after the game and say something, but I like that Strong had him go over and do that during the game. A little compassion can go a long way.
