For Some Crazy Reason The Texas Rangers May Be Bringing Back an Overpaid Josh Hamilton

In what will be the craziest deal of the century in professional sports (yes, even crazier than Chip Kelly signing Tim Tebow), the Texas Rangers may be trying to trade for former outfielder Josh Hamilton. Yes, the very same Hamilton the team and the fan base were not to upset about when he left a couple years ago.

Supposedly the Angels and Rangers are in deep talks for some kind of trade. What the Rangers are willing to give up for him is a mystery.

Why they are willing to give anything up for him is an even bigger mystery. It's not like the team is not aware of what they are getting with Hamilton. They are well aware of his struggles with chemical dependency and how it can affect his game. Hamilton hasn't exactly been a superstar since leaving the Rangers either.

To make matters worse he is two years into a 5-year, $125 million contract that he has yet to show he is worth.

So why trade for him? It's not as if the fans are going to be happy to see him back. They were pretty happy to see him go.

According to Yahoo!Sports the Rangers are going to have to pay $15 million of the $80 million he is due through 2017 so if he can stay out of trouble and return to the form that made him an MVP it will be a steal. As far as the fans go, if he starts cranking a few home runs it will be amazing how quickly all will be forgiven.
