Some of the moves the Indianapolis Colts have made this off-season have been head scratchers. Why the team would not want to make Chuck Pagano a good offer before his contract runs out is baffling. Not only has the man beaten cancer, but the team is already considered a perennial playoff contender once again. Pay the man already!
Word was that the team was going to bide its time giving Andrew Luck a new contract as well. No worries, right? I'm sure no one will want to throw a small fortune at him should he actually be allowed to become a free agent at the end of next season.

As it turns out the team is not stupid after all. The Colts have exercised the fifth year option for Luck meaning he is locked up through the 2016 season giving them two years to decided how much he is worth (or cut enough salary to fit what they do pay him under the cap):
