Roy Hibbert's Days With the Indiana Pacers Numbered?

This season's Indiana Pacers were nothing like last season's Pacers with Lance Stephenson gone and Paul George out for most of the season with an injury. In a way you could say that it became Roy Hibbert's team, but with the Pacers sitting at home with the playoffs preparing to start it is safe to say that didn't go so well. So it comes as no surprise that the team is going to go in a different direction next year; one that may not include Roy Hibbert.

Or at least not very much of Hibbert.

It sounds like while the team would like Big Roy to return to the team next season the chances of that happening are unlikely. Why would he since Vogel has made it clear the team is looking to play an entitely different brand of ball. The plan is to play smaller and faster.

Smaller and faster is not something that is conducive to a 7'2" 275 pound man's game.

For some reason, even though he knows that his role on the team is going to diminish the team expects Hibbert to pick up the player option on his contract and return to the Pacers next season.

It would be suprising to see Hibbert come back. Why would he want to? Chances are someone out there will be willing to pay him a comparable salary that actually wants him to play.
