WATCH: Jerrod Heard With Some Sweet Feet and Pinpoint Throws in Practice for the Texas Longhorns
Last season the Texas Longhorns were forced to shove Tyrone Swoopes out of the nest and in to the starting line-up when David Ash went down for the season. At times he looked like what the Longhorns needed behind center, but overall what they saw was not enough to secure him the job for next season. Heck, it wasn't enough for his head coach to even learn his name.
Swoopes is in a battle with Jerrod Heard for the starters role and from what we have been hearing Heard has been closing the gap.
From the look of his play during practice recently it is safe to say Heard is giving his head coach a reason to remember his name:
