WATCH: Green Bay Packers Give Kansas State Forward Thomas Gipson a Workout

Ever since the San Diego Chargers turned former Kent State basketball player Antonio Gates in to the best tight end that the NFL has ever seen teams have been keeping a close eye on the nation's basketball talent. The hope is to find another big man that they can turn in to the next great tight end.

Green Bay is hoping they might have the next great tight end in former Kansas State forward Thomas Gipson.

Big Gip (as he goes by on Twitter) has often heard that he has the body of  a football player at 6'7" and 265 pounds, but for one reason or another he has never played the game. That didn't stop the Packers from coming to campus to put him through a workout.

His routes are crap (but those can be taught), but his hands are alright.

Big Gip has been asked about football his entire life, but just laughed it off. In a 2013 interview he did say that he would give it a try if his basketball career stalled. He averaged 11. 3 points and 5,3 boards for the Wildcats last season in 28 minutes a game.
