Adrian Peterson Contemplating Pulling a Barry Sanders and Retiring?

Adrian Peterson and his agent Ben Dogra are playing hard ball with the Minnesota Vikings; not just hard ball, but extremely hard ball. Peterson is not going to be reporting to OTAs and will likely not report to any off-season activities with the Vikings. Word is he is still trying to force the team to trade him, but even Jerry Jones is not crazy enough to pay the Vikings price tag. If he can't leave Minnesota he at least wants more money from Minnesota.

Should that not happen either it appears that he may be considering doing what Barry Sanders did to escape Detroit--retire.

It could be a smoke screen, it could be frustration, or it could be real. Peterson has made plenty of money and does not need to work. At his age he may not like the idea of playing for a team as bad as the Vikings. Teddy Bridgewater has a promising career ahead of him, but he is not quite ready to lead a team to glory just yet.

So either he gets traded to a contender (Dallas?) or makes enough money to justify taking a beating for a non-contender. If he doesn't get either maybe--and just maybe--he calls it quits.

It's happened before people. Don't be shocked.
