Dallas Cowboys Hoping Former First Round Pick A.J. Jenkins Can be the New Dwayne Harris?

When the San Francisco 49er drafted wide receiver A.J. Jenkins in the first round of the 2012 draft the general perception was that the team was out of its collective mind. That perception proved right when the team traded him to the Kansas City Chiefs for Jon Baldwin. He didn't last long there either catching just 17 balls for 223 yards in two seasons, and was cut after the '15 season.

He has yet to score a touchdown in the NFL. So why on Earth would the Dallas Cowboyss bother signing him?

It could be because the Cowboys lost return specialist Dwayne Harris to the New York Giants in free agency and could use someone to return kicks. He did return kicks in college at Illinois; mostly during his freshman year before his role in the offense expanded. When he tested at the combine his 40-yard dash was a 4.37.

Should he still have that speed and remember how to catch kickoffs he could be a valuable addition to the team.
