Dallas Cowboys Defensive Lineman Greg Hardy Quitting Twitter After Backlash From 9/11 Joke

Greg Hardy has not been a member of the Dallas Cowboys for very long, but is already getting in to some trouble. First, there was the altercation of sorts with a teammate where he was called a "wife-beater." Teammates are going to get in to beefs from time to time with his recent history he had to know some guys would take issue with him.

However, the 9/11 related "joke" he tweeted a couple nights ago angered more than just his teammates, and now it appears the backlash is forcing him to get off of Twitter.

Sunday night Hardy sent the message out in to the virtual world that he is done with Twitter:

It's probably safe to assume he meant "lost" not "last."

The team talked to Hardy about his social media presence before the ill-advised joke, and spoke with him again following the tweet. From what ESPN is reporting the message was pretty straight forward--think before you tweet.

"I think in general we have a policy of just use good restraint when you're involved in all that kind of stuff," head coach Jason Garrett said. "Think about the implication of your words."
