Daylight Saving to Stay in Texas So Fans Don't Have to Choose Between Church and the Dallas Cowboys

Daylight savings can be very annoying. Forget to change your clocks and you can either be an hour early or an hour late to something. It's the kind of thing that makes thousands of people angry twice a year as we move our clocks back or forward an hour. So when a bill was up for debate in the Texas House many thought it would pass, but there was one problem.

Folks might not be too happy if they have to choose between going to church on Sunday or watching the Dallas Cowboys play.

After a lengthy debate the bill lost 56-79. The arguments for ditching it were about what you would have expected.

One representative referred to the whole process as a hassle that just wasn't needed anymore. Many supporters like the idea of not sending their kids out to meet the bus when it was still dark outside. In the end it appears that the fear of having to choose between God and the Cowboys swayed the vote.

It seems that once people realized that while the start of church would change game times from around the country may not.
Dallas Democratic Rep. Rafael Anchia declared: "I don't want to miss church, and I don't want to miss the Cowboys game."
I suppose the hole in the roof helps the man upstairs not miss a play, but it doesn't do much for fans driving home from church. I'm sure an argument was made that folks will just have to set their DVRs, but not everyone has one.

Hmmm...did anyone propose government funded DVRs? I'm just saying....This is Texas after all; a state well-known for its love of the gridiron.

It could happen...
