Maybe DeMarco Murray Deserved More of the Credit Than He Got Last Season

The Dallas Cowboys have been missing something for a few years leading up to the start of last season--a running game. They appeared to get one in DeMarcu Murray, but not enough of one that the team was willing to pay him enough to keep him. The popular perception was that his success was due more to the offensive line than him.

Well--the stats don't lie. Yes, the offensive line deserves a lot of credit for his success, but he deserves just as much if not more.

As it turns out, he got a good chunk of his yardage last season after making contact with a defender:

I told someone today, "I bet Murray had 1k yards after contact last year." Looked it up, he had 998. Eagles got themselves a stud.

So yeah, the Cowboys offensive line is good and will likely make whoever runs behind them next season look better than they are, but Murray is no schmuck either.
