Rumor has it that several players have even spoken out against the pick, but what they and the rest of the world are not seeing is that the pick actually makes perfect sense.

They already have the quarterback to do the job in Andrew Luck. An argument can be made that they even have more than enough weapons on offense already. T.Y. Hilton is the unquestioned No. 1. Free agent acquisition Andre Johnson is expected to be the No. 2 (assuming he hasn't lost a step). The team has high hopes for Donte Montcrief and Duron Carter. Tight ends Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen are not bad options when healthy as well.
So why take Dorsett?
His talent and athletic ability is unquestioned, but the most common critique is that the team does not need him--or did they? T.Y Hilton is going into a contract year. What if he goes somewhere else? Many think Montcrief could be in for a breakout year, but what if it doesn't happen? Canadian product Carter is simply unproven.
Even if Hilton does stay (and it is hard to imagine Irsay will not pay him accordingly) the team needs another quality long term receiver. Johnson is at the tail end of his career and the others may not pan out. Dorsett may not either, but assuming he does the Colts will continue to be the dominant passing team that fans know and love for years to come.
