San Diego Chargers RB Melvin Gordon Changing Numbers; Going to Wear No. 25 After All

NFL Players often like to wear the same number they wore in college. For some it's been the same number since high school (or longer). If someone on the team happens to already have the number they are out of luck. They either have to strike a deal with the veteran or just choose another number.

Melvin Gordon appeared to cool with picking another number and went ahead and choose No. 28. However, it appears the No. 28 jerseys his fans bought are going to be out of date.

According to his mom he was able to strike a deal with special teams star Darrell Stuckey who wore the number for the last four seasons.
“He just told me a couple of days ago that he’s changed his number back to 25,’’ Carmen Gordon said, via the Pioneer Press. “One of the guys on the special teams has No. 25 and he talked to him and they’re going to (negotiate). He worked out a deal because he wants to keep No. 25. But I’m sure he’s going to have to give him some duckies.’’
Good for him. As silly as it may seem players get attached to their numbers over the years so it is cool that he was able to get No. 25. However, it will not be cool to the fans who already got a No. 28 Melvin Gordon jersey.

The team, or Gordon, may want to consider doing a little something for those guys.
