When you are an athlete and you make a mistake in a game part of you wants to make up for your mistake. Coaches will tell you just to move on and forget about it because dwelling on it will only cause to make more mistakes. So while you know you have to do just that part of you still wants to atone for your misstep.
Bryce Harper certainly made a bit of a goof during the Nationals game with the Braves Friday night when he got picked off at first. However, he more than made up for it in his next two at-bats.
