Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz Ejects Umpire While Arguing His Own Ejection [GIF]

Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz has been known to be a fiery guy in the past. Call it a short fuse, call it a hair trigger, or misguided passion. Whatever you call it he is darn entertaining to watch get worked up prior to leaving a game and Saturday night he was in rare form after getting tossed by the umpire.

He even tried to eject the umpire himself (if only players had that kind of power).

So--what was all the fuss over? The early assumption was that it was because after hitting a seventh inning single Ortiz gave his bat a good toss back at the batter's box, but that was not the case at all. According to MLB.com's Jordan Wilson, it had more to do with Ortiz arguing pitch calls.

Flimsy ump. Real flimsy.
