Terrelle Pryor Now Willing to Play Wide Receiver--But Has Admitted He Can't Catch

Former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor finds himself looking for a job once again. Since leaving the Buckeyes in 2011 he has played for the Oakland Raiders (who took him in the supplemental draft) and spent time on the practice squad or in camp with the Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks, and most recently the Cincinnati Bengals.

Cincinnati decided to let him go so Pryor has decided to do something people have recommended for years in order to keep his pro career from dying.

He has decided to tell teams he is available to play wide receiver. At 6'4" and 233 pounds with some serious wheels he could garner a significant amount of interest fairly quick. Every team in the league would like a guy with that kind of size and his speed at wide receiver. Having been a quarterback his whole career it shouldn't be hard for him to learn the routes.

There is, however, one problem. He doesn't know how to catch. He admitted as much last season when asked why he didn't want to switch positions.

“I don’t know how to catch,” Pryor said last June, while with the Seahawks. “I’ve been a quarterback my whole life.”

The question going forward may be how patient teams are going to be while he figures out how to catch.
