Rather than take a chance on someone else being willing to show Wilson the love when he became a free agent next off-season it appears the team came to its senses and made Wilson an offer he couldn't refuse.

The new Wilson deal includes a $31-million signing bonus, with approximately $60-million guaranteed.

He may not be the highest paid QB in the league (which is still Aaron Rodger at $22 million/season; Wilson will be getting $21.9 million/season) it is still pretty darn good money. What makes this an even better deal for Wilson is that he will be 30 going in to the final year of the contract.
So he is going to be able to get another big money contract assuming he can keep the Seahawks winning.
Wilson, as could be expected, is quite happy about the deal:
Blessed to be w/ this organization for 4 more years! Can't wait to get on field w/ the fellas! @Seahawks #ChampionshipMindset

You did an article about how much the owners of professional sports teams will spend a new stadiums. I'm hoping you will actually go through and make a correction, because in most cases it's not the owners that pay for the stadiums. It's the cities. Therefore the fans, that pay for the stadiums. The owners just reep all of the profits from the stadiums. You seem like a pretty good guy, so give the credit where credit is due on these stadiums.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Not sure which article you are talking about. Can you reply with the link so I can make the correction to the right one?
