Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin In Great Shape After Dropping 20 Pounds During The Off-Season

As a rookie, Tamp Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin looked like the real deal rushing for 1454 yards and 11 touchdowns. He followed that up with 456 yards in six games in 2013 (missing most of the year because of an injury). His 2014 season ended early because of another injury limiting him to just 494 yards in 11 games. With numbers like that it is no wonder the team declined to exercise his fifth-year option which will make him a free agent following this season.

According to all the talk coming out of camp it sounds like the rookie year Martin might be back.

Word is that Martin had the best off-season of his career dropping 20 pounds in the process. He has been noticeably leaner and quicker in camp, and the team has already dubbed him the lead back going in to the season.

For his sake, hopefully all the talk is right. Otherwise, it would not be shocking if the Buccaneers were to say goodbye in the off-season. If they do it will likely mean the end of his career.
