Another Sign That It's A New Day For The Oakland Raiders

The Oakland Raiders have not been any good for a long time; dating back to their last trip to the Super Bowl in 2002. In fact, since then they have won five or fewer games a season 10 times (the other two years were 8-8 seasons). They are entertaining to watch now; something that can't be said for most of the last decade. Even die-hard fans would have to admit their team sucked--but no longer.

Oakland actually has one of the top ten offenses in the league led by one of nine quarterbacks in the league with a rating over 100. For the first time in 27 games they are actually going to be favored on the road this week.

To be fair, they are going to Chicago and will likely play a team led by Jimmie Clausen. There is a chance Jay Cutler may play, but since the fire sale began this week with the departures of Jon Bostic and Jared Allen the Bears may want to make sure the highly paid Cutler doesn't return till he is healthy enough to play.

They are only favored by three points against a terrible Bears team so that may say something about the squad too. While the team is better than it has been in years, there is still a lot of room for improvement--which just means they are going to be even more fun to watch in the years to come.

  2. Carr, Cooper, and Murray are the youngest trio to be this effective in the history of the NFL, which means this offense is going to be good for a very long time. It's a great time to be a Raiders fan.
