De'Veon Smith Leads Michigan To A 31-0 Win Over BYU [GIF]

The best way to beat BYU is to not let the passing game find its rhythm. Tanner Mangum is a good quarterback, and if he and his receivers get in sync watch out. So--ho do you stop that? First, you play hard-nosed defense, put pressure on the quarterback, and make the receivers work for every inch they get. Second, you run the ball. Control the clock and keep the ball out of Mangum's hands and he'll never find his rhythm.

Saturday Michigan went ahead and stifled the BYU offense with some solid defensive play, and they kept the ball out of Mangum's hands by running the ball. Michigan's De'Veon Smith had 125 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries (60 of it and the touchdown coming on the play below).

BYU generated 105 yards of offense, and Michigan won easily 31-0.
