Terrell Owens Blames Tony Romo's Injury On Wide Receiver; Says Had Agent Reached Out To Team About Playing

The road to repeat as NFC East division champs got a lot tougher Sunday when the Dallas Cowboys lost quarterback Tony Romo for the bulk of the season to a broken clavicle. As if it wasn't bade enough already that the team lost wide receiver Dez Bryant for the bulk of the season the week before. Now Romo too? Damn.

One guy thinks he can help--former wide receiver Terrell Owens.

Owens went on the Rich Eisen Show Monday and talked about the Cowboys (among other things). During the broadcast he mentioned that when Dez Bryant went down he had his agent reach out to the team to see if they were interested in bringing him in:

Owens is 41 now, and has not played a down in the regular season since his time with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2010. He was with the Seattle Seahawks during training camp in 2012, but did not make the final cut.

His desire to comeback is understandable. If there is one thing that every NFL player wants to do it is retire on their own terms. They don't want an injury bringing their career to an end or diminished skill. The general perception when it comes to Owens is that no one wanted a locker room cancer on the roster.

While it certainly wouldn't suck to have the guy with the second most receivving yards in NFL history and third most receiving touchdowns on the roster, but when Owens was on the Cowboys roster back in 2008 he caused some drama. Should the Cowboys believe he'd be any different now?

Absolutely not. He also mentioned during the Rich Eisen Show how he thinks Tony Romo's injury is because one of the wide receivers screwed up:

The way you left sucks TO, but give it up man.

If Owens were to return he would no longer be eligible for induction into the Hall of Fame this year.
