During the preseason, fans could not get enough of former rugby league player turned football player Jarryd Hayne. After playing well in the preseason he earned a spot on the final roster (although I read somewhere that he was guaranteed a spot in his contract). So that means the 49ers need to find a use for him in the regular season.
So they let him return punts; something he was good at during the preseason. However, his first official punt return didn't go very well.
