New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees Needed Stiches After Taking Hit Against Titans [VIDEO]

Drew Brees has ben on a tear of late. After throwing seven touchdown passes one game he followed it up with another good game, a 387-yard, three touchdown game against the Tennessee Titans last week. While he may be playing well, he has been taking his lumps too.

Against the Titans he took a hit in the fourth quarter to the jaw from Davis Bass that bloodied him up enough that he needed stitches.

It occurred early in the fourth quarter (so not the video above):

"It was the one where they got the flag, it was down in the red zone, guy kind of got a clean shot on me, hit me right in the jaw," Brees said. "So I ended up getting stitches and kind of had a lemon-sized swelled up there for a little bit. But I'm fine, obviously we ended up getting a little bit closer to the end zone because of that, ended up getting a touchdown and taking an 8-point lead. So listen, that's a part of the game sometimes."

The Saints have all kinds of issues so it is not likely that they will make the playoffs this season. if they are going to have any kind of chance they will need to keep Brees healthy so they might want to try and do something about their protection.
