This is why I will never bother trying to take my son or daughter to a professional football game--unless we have our own box/suite that we can relax in for awhile after the game in order to make sure all the crazies are gone.
Why the paranoia? Because once again there has been a serious incident at an NFL stadium.
There is not a whole lot to the story just yet, but it appears as if a Falcons fan and a 49ers fan got into an argument while leaving the game. The Atlanta fan punched the 49ers fan and he responded by stabbing the Falcons fan in the throat.
Yep. You read that right; because of some perceived slight a fight started and someone was stabbed in the throat.
Let's assume for the moment that it had something to do with the game (because we don't know that for a absolute certainty). People--its a game. Unless you gambled your life's savings or bet the house that's all it is. For the guys on the field it isn't that big a thing either. Win or lose they still get paid the same (the playoff checks are peanuts to most of the guys).
It is not a big deal. I love football. I grew up playing football. I consider it a given (as does my wife) that when the bowl games, the playoffs, the Cowboys, Texans, or Aggies are playing I am watching. However, should the kids need something or anything else of importance come up I take care of it.
Do I hate missing anything? yes. Do I get annoyed when I find out what the outcome was before I've seen the play? Yes. Does it send me into a rage when this happens or when people leave nasty notes and comments on one of my posts? Well, yes, but I'm an adult so I get over it an move on.
This is a game people. It is crazy how many videos of fights in stadium parking lots or in the stands you an find on YouTube. Get a grip on reality a little bit better people--IT IS JUST A GAME.
A beautiful, awesome, don't want to do with out it game, but still just a game.
