The tale she told to wrap him back under "her" again was a goodie. She claimed that she had to fake her death in order to get away from some drug dealers.
Okay. If you watch television shows then you know that kind of stuff happens, right?
Oh--wait. Television isn't real.
Manti listened to her tale and she tried to get the whole relationship up and running again. He asked for proof of life--a photo--and got it. He was still skeptical that his dead girlfriend who had passed away three months ago was for real.
It was at this time that he finally became a little leery of the relationship and began to question the legitimacy of it.
Now. He. Questions.
What I want to question is the fact that this being an online relationship was not really publicized. I didn't follow the story of her "death" back in September, but was there a photo of her in the press then? If not--how come? If so then why didn't anyone figure out where this photo had come from (assuming it would be the one produced then like it was now)?
How in the world did the media not discover this mess months ago?
And who in the world was the woman on the other end of the line? Was it Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, the hoax mastermind? Did he have some sort of killer voice modulator or computer program or something?
We now know the face of the hoax was --a hoax. Who was the voice? Who called Manti Te'o during that awards show on December 6?
