And the Name of the Baby Clydesdale Foal From the Super Bowl Ad is...

Budweiser has a knack for coming up with some awesome ads for the Super Bowl every year, and this year was no different. The spot with the baby Clydesdale growing up and leaving the farm ended up being the most popular one of the night according to the USA Today's Ad Meter (Yahoo).

So the No. 1 commercial of the Super Bowl was not something involving crazy special effects, a Hollywood blockbuster, a big time celebrity, or--gasp!--sex. It was about the bond that developed between a trainer and his horse over time. A tear-jerker to sell beer? Go figure!

What might have helped was when the company asked folks for ideas on what to name the young foal that was just born on January 16. Tons of names were sent in via Twitter, Facebook, and other means; over 60,000 suggestions.

And the winner is...Hope.

"Many of our fans wanted a name to reflect their optimism and spirit, which the name Hope encapsulates beautifully," Lori Shambro, brand director for Budweiser said.

Sounds good to me. Well done Budweiser; almost makes me want to go drink a beer.
